I don't find him arrogant at all. He is massively confident in his own ability but he has every right to be. He's an outstanding boxer.

Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
I'm surprised GGG is showing interest in this fight as thought his main priority was Canelo.

russ, im sure you watched the saunders fight. only my opinion but if he'd not been asleep for the first five or six rounds he'd have pissed that fight. i think he can only gain by getting in there with this calibre of opponent

Billy Joe Saunders beat him. BJS deserves a shot at a real 'outstanding' boxer in GGG first.

And he's fucking arrogant as i've met him a number of occasions.

Long time to sleep, 5 or 6 rounds.

BJS was pissing it. If anything he went to sleep.

Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
Excellent technical figher BJS and he found Eubank really easily in that fight, and generally outclassed him as a boxer. With more power he would have stopped him . That's exactly what I expect will happen if he fights Golovkin. BJS shouldn't be thinking of fighting Golovkin either.

GGG is the best fighter of a generation.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Still, fighters want to fight. And GGG is a massive payday.

best of a generation? id put ward or kovalev in front of him

Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
I like GGG a lot and he's a very good fighter, but he hasn't done anything to warrant being a great fighter.

Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
If you look at the current boxrec rankings, there's not much Eubank can do but step up in class.

He's currently ranked 5th in the world.

The 4 ahead of him include GGG, Canelo and Cotto.

If he doesn't step up and take one of them on now, then when?

Golovkin has not boxed 1 true world class fighter.

Eerie Descent 7:09 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
And he's 34. You can't get to that age with Martin Murray being your best opponent and be called a great.

Sussex_IRONS 7:30 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
No one wants to fight him and Murray was not his best opponent. When you have the 2nd best middleweight give up his belt so that he can avoid fighting you then you know that GGG is special.

Eerie Descent 7:48 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
What one of the fighters that he has beat is top class?

You can't keep using that excuse, he's 34 and hasn't fought anyone, whether that is his fault or not does not really matter, you can't call him a great, and not one man who he has beat is even top class, let alone a great themselves.

Sussex_IRONS 8:51 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
He can only fight those that want to fight him. There is only one other opponent that could be called top class and that is Canelo, and he is avoiding GGG so far. David Lemieux would beat Eubank Jnr quite easily and GGG made him look bang average as he has all his opponents. He offered Billy Joe Saunders money to fight him and Billy Joe refused. As media has said he could well be the most avoided boxer of all time.

Takashi Miike 8:55 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
most overrated of all time

Eerie Descent 9:14 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
So that's a no then, Sussex, he hasn't fought anyone near top class. Thanks for confirming.

Eerie Descent 9:15 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
I'm a fan, by the way, I think he is immense, but he hasn't been with anyone to prove he can be considered a great. Not one single fighter.

neilalex 11:18 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
I don't think Golovkin is overrated, he just hasn't had much to fight in world class terms, which isn't his fault. It's always hard to say, its the same as asking how Lennox Lewis would have got on against Ali, Frazier, Foreman etc.

However, his amateur record, against every hard bastard, from every hard corner of the earth, is outstanding. I think he's a great fighter, hard as fucking nails and a complete box/fighter with murder in either hand. Said before he reminds me of Julio Cesar Chavez and regardless of opposition thus far I think he's in that kind of league.

Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
It's brave by junior and I really wish him well. Canelo gave up his world title last week to avoid GGG. It would be an interesting fight, his gonna need to jump on him from the start and fuck off showboating.

Shin Chan 11:40 Wed May 25
Re: Eubank jnr vs GGG
GGG has fought everyone they have put in front of him, and can't remember him ducking anyone. As much as I like Canelo and Eubank they would both get beaten by GGG. The guy has a granite chin, one hell of a punch and spent MANY years as an amateur picking up the skills he needs when he fights people who like to stick and move.
